The Caldecott Medal is intended to honor the best picture book of the year. In 2011 the winner was most deserving. "A SICK DAY FOR AMOS MCGEE" is by Phillip C. Stead and illustrated by his wife, Erin E. Stead. When the friendly zookeeper gets sick, the animals take care of him. Three to eight years.
The Caldecott Medal for 2012 is "BALL FOR DAISY" By Chris Raschka. This is a wordless picture book that shows a joyful dog playing with a ball until until another dog bites and deflates it. But all is well in the end. Sold out everywhere. We'll get it in as soon as possible.

PLAN TOYS are here. This great line of wooden pre-school toys is made in Thailand. Plan is "green" in that their line is made from rubber trees used for making rubber products. Plan uses the leftover wood to make their wonderful all-wood toys.
